A new edition of the Lectionary, the book which contains the readings which are proclaimed at Mass, will come into use in England and Wales on the First Sunday of Advent 1st December. It will use the English Standard Version for the Scripture Readings, the Psalms and Responsorial Psalms. This means that we shall need to change our Missals as well as our Lectionaries.
The Lectionaries will cost £695 for each Church.
A parishioner from Sacred Heart, Eccleshall, has very generously made paid for their Lectionaries. I should be grateful for any similar offers from parishioners for St Dominic’s. A special blessing in memory of a deceased loved one would be a fitting memento put in the Lectionary.
The new missals are £20 each. These replace the current missal used in Mass. I will order 50 which will be available to buy from the piety stall when we receive them. If you wish to reserve one please put your name on the list in the porch.
